Coach Stores Explained: Landmark Flagships, Shops and What Awaits You

Coach closed its 2026 fiscal year, on 27 June 2026, with 973 directly operated stores, as set out in Tapestry’s annual report. Of those stores, 336 are in North America and 637 are in international markets. There is also a figure of about 1,299 stores, but that total counts all of Tapestry’s brands, not Coach by itself. For the year ahead, Tapestry has reportedly signalled that around 50 net new Coach stores are in the pipeline for fiscal 2027, with roughly three quarters of them located outside North America. The network includes flagship Coach House locations, regular full-price boutiques, concessions in department stores and Coach Outlet stores. A shopper looking for a coach store may therefore come across formats as different as a multi-floor flagship and a unit in an outlet village. This guide goes city by city through the best-recorded locations and flags where a store’s current status still needs checking.

New York and the Fifth Avenue Coach House

New York, where Coach was founded in 1941, is home to the brand’s most recognised flagship. Opened in the fall of 2016, the Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue was timed for the brand’s 75th anniversary. Coverage described it as about 20,000 square feet across three floors, and it was designed with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield. Coach has reportedly leased about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a new Coach couch-outlet.net House, meaning the present address is not a permanent base. Coach has pencilled in 2027 for the intended move, while David Yurman is said to have leased the 685 Fifth Avenue space and is expected to open there in early 2029. Whether the current store is still trading on a given day has not been confirmed, so check Coach’s store locator before travelling specially. There is also a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards on the locator, near Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.

London and the Regent Street Coach House

Launched in 2016 as a global concept store, London’s Coach House stands at 200–206 Regent Street. Just like the New York flagship, it was designed with Studio Sofield, giving the pair a shared look. Accounts from the time referred to a Craftsmanship Bar offering monogramming and personalisation. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly require around 12 weeks, or about 16 weeks for exotic skins, and a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag was also reported. Be wary of the wrong opening year: one retail-district listing carries a much later page date, and that has misled some writers. On its August 2026 earnings call, Tapestry said that the UK, alongside some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has material market penetration, according to a published transcript. Anyone planning a personalisation appointment should confirm which services are currently offered before visiting.

Tokyo and Ginza

Tokyo’s Ginza district is home to Coach’s flagship in Japan. Coach opened its first Japanese flagship there in 2002 and refreshed the store in 2015. Reports of the relaunch say that the studio CURIOSITY redesigned the store, which reopened on 19 December 2025. For services, Japan counts as well: select Japanese stores reportedly take part in the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange. Outlet items and canvas styles are reportedly excluded, but the scheme accepts gently worn all-leather retail bags. Which Japanese stores participate was not confirmed, so ask the store before taking a bag in. As is true of every flagship in this guide, it is best to check opening hours and services shortly before you go.

Greater China: An Outdated Shanghai Record, Plus Hong Kong and Chongqing

Coach’s large stores in Greater China are less well recorded than the flagships in New York or London. Based on a record that is now out of date, a flagship of about 7,000 square feet opened on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010. Nobody could verify its current status, so the Shanghai store should not be taken to be open today. It has also been reported that Coach operates a global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing. The launch dates for those two stores also remain unverified. Among Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, 637 are international, though the annual report does not break that figure down city by city. Older press coverage is less reliable than Coach’s local store locator, so visitors should use the locator when planning a visit.

British Boutiques and Concessions

Besides Regent Street, full-price stores are shown on Coach’s UK store locator at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. In London, the list also covers St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf. The Bullring in Birmingham has the documented full-price store beyond London. Coach also sells through concessions inside Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted. No store could be confirmed in Manchester, Edinburgh or other cities, so check before presuming a local branch exists. For anyone searching coach uk locations, this list sets out the documented full-price options at the time of writing. For hours and services, the safest place is the store’s own page on Coach’s UK website.

Coach Outlet Stores

Coach Outlet stores are part of Coach’s own network, not independent discounters, and Coach labels them as outlets in its store locator. In most cases, they sit in outlet centres, and in the United States, Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common. Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet all host confirmed Coach Outlet stores in Great Britain. York Designer Outlet is less certain: a store there has been reported but not confirmed, so check ahead before travelling there. Some of the stock in outlet stores is made for the outlet channel, yet today’s mix is unknown, since the only share figure found, around 85%, goes back to 2014. Assortments also include earlier-season styles and, under the reported “One Coach” strategy, some full-price collection product. Since promotions change and coupon-site sale calendars could not be verified, review current offers ahead of a coach outlet trip.

Inside a Coach Store: What to Expect

Inside a full-price coach store, the emphasis is the latest handbag range, with small leather goods, clothing and shoes on offer too. The Tabby was introduced in 2019, the Brooklyn in August 2024 and the Empire Carryall in February 2025, and together they rank among the recognisable bag families in 2026. Note that these are market observations rather than an official price list: observed US prices put a Tabby 26 at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450. Selected stores also take part in the (Re)Loved trade-in, which runs in North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores. Based on reports, Coach Insider, Coach’s free loyalty programme, covers both Coach and Coach Outlet, so one membership spans both formats. Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise, which makes a receipt from a Coach store helpful evidence of where a coach bag came from. In charge of creative direction is Stuart Vevers, who remains Creative Director in 2026; his appointment was announced in June 2013.

Planning Your Visit

Particularly while the New York flagship is preparing to move, a little preparation saves wasted journeys. Start with Coach’s store locator for the country you are visiting, since it separates full-price stores from Coach Outlet locations. If you plan a trade-in, check that the specific store participates and that your bag is all leather rather than canvas. For personalisation or made-to-order services, ask in advance whether the service is running. Visitors to Britain should bear in mind that tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain came to an end on 1 January 2021, so there is no VAT refund to count on. If questions come up later, a receipt records where a bag was bought, so keep every one. Review current promotions before a long journey to an outlet centre, because offers change frequently.

  • Consult the store locator on the day you travel.
  • Confirm that the store participates in trade-ins and that your bag is eligible.
  • Arrange things in advance for personalisation services.
  • Hold on to receipts for every purchase.
